Is medical marijuana legal?
Yes—in the state of California. On November 5, 1996, California passed Proposition 215, and Section 11362.5 was codified and added to the Health & Safety Code. It is also known as the Compassionate Use Act of 1996. The purposes of the Act include, in part: “(A) To ensure that seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes where the medical use is deemed appropriate and has been recommended by a physician who has determined that the person’s health would benefit from the use of marijuana in the treatment of cancer, anorexia, AIDS, chronic pain, spasticity, glaucoma, arthritis, migraine, or any other illness for which marijuana provides relief; and (B) To ensure that patients and their primary caregivers who obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes upon the recommendation of a physician are not subject to criminal prosecution or sanction.”
What do I need to do?
Synergy Wellness products are available to members of the collective only. According to current state guidelines, a collective is allowed to grow and produce products for its members in exchange for “donations” to cover the cost of production (equipment, nutrients, electricity, etc.). The products are not sold on the open market. Rather they are only available to collective members on a donation basis. This creates a closed loop whereby we are growing exclusively for our members.
To join, membership is free. Each new member must fill out a Membership Application Form online here and click on the “SUBMIT” button. In addition, you must have a letter of recommendation from your medical doctor. We need a copy of that recommendation for our records. Please scan your doctor’s recommendation and send it via email to: Info@SynergyCBD.com. If you do not have a scanner, take a photo with a smart phone or send a hard copy by mail. We need to have the doctor’s recommendation together with the application before you can order products. We also need a copy of your California Drivers License or state ID with a photo.
Quality control is our primary focus. Synergy Wellness products are grown with the highest quality nutrients available. Organic fertilizer and soil are used. Other ingredients include compost tea, bat guano, seaweed and worm casing tea. We pay utmost attention to the quality of the products, both in the growing process as well as while drying, curing and brewing. Products are grown indoors to enable better quality control. Synergy Wellness used to produce products for a couple of dispensaries in the Bay area. However, those have since closed. Now, all products are available exclusively at our Woodacre facility, for members only.
Indica vs. Sativa?
Cannabis is rich in cannabinoids. There are over 85 identified different cannabinoids today including: THC, THCA, THCV, CBD, CBDA, CBN, CBT, CBC & CBG to mention a few. There are two basic species or types of cannabis: Indica and Sativa, and over 1,000 different strains within these two species. The healing properties of the cannabis strain lie in the relative ratios and combinations of the cannabinoids.
Indica originated in the Hindu Kush mountains in India and Nepal. Indica has a higher CBD:THC ratio. It produces heavier, body oriented, sleepy or relaxing type of effect. The medicinal qualities include pain management, nausea, muscle spasms, stress and anxiety. Indica strains are a relaxant, effective for appetite stimulation, sleep, muscle spasms and tremors, among other symptoms. It is good as an evening medicine.
Sativa originated in Central and South America. Sativa usually has a lower CBD:THC ratio, producing a cerebral, uplifting type of feeling, more energetic and creative. Often, the THC content is higher in the sativa strains than the Indica strains. The Sativa strains are stimulating, effective in appetite stimulation, relieving depression, migraines, pain and nausea. Best taken in the morning or afternoon.
Hybrids are a combination of sativa and indica strains that have been cross bred with each other to produce a combination of medicinal properties.
CBD – Cannabidiol is one of the 85+ cannabinoids and it has most of the healing properties. The CBD Rich strain is usually a hybrid of indica and sativa. Each CBD rich strain will display indica or sativa qualities of energizing or relaxing, the same as the non CBD rich strain. The main difference is the reduced psychoactive effect of the THC and the increased healing value.
What about vaporizers?
We encourage the use of vaporizers as they are better for your health. They work by volatilizing the THC, CBD, CBN & CBC at temperatures between 375 – 400 degrees F. This is lower than the temperature of combustion, 454 degrees F. This method produces a smoother smoke, releasing the medicinal properties of the cannabinoids, without the harsh toxins.
Pen Vaporizer – We have finally found a vaporizer that we really like. It uses the cannabis oil extracted from the cannabis flowers and plant material. It is very smooth on the throat, odor-free as the vapor does not smell, very discreet, cost effective and very elegant.
