FAQ’s - Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a Dr. Recommendation to order products from Synergy Wellness?
California laws are complicated, in maintaining our status as a “medical only” dispensary we are able to save our members the excessive taxes that exist on recreational cannabis. It also allows us to continue operating at our current Marin County CA location, providing quality service to folks in need of educated guidance & quality products: more than a recreational dispensary is able to provide.

Where can I get a doctor recommendation if my doctor or practitioner won’t provide one for me?
For a small fee you can obtain a recommendation online, to include with your Membership Application. Here is the link to that service: GreenLeafCare.com
Please note: The GreenLeafCare website is not affiliated with Synergy Wellness. They will only provide you with a downloadable doctor recommendation. You will still need to fill out your Membership Application on the Synergy website, and provide your downloaded doctor recommendation from GreenLeafCare in your application.

Do I have to be a Member of Synergy Wellness to place an order?
Yes. Membership is a free online process. To fill out the online application CLICK HERE. Once you submit your membership application, and the documents required, you will receive a “Welcome Email”, usually within 24 hours. Please call to place your first order.

How will I receive my order?
Orders will be delivered discretely to your doorstep by overnight shipper. Orders placed on a Friday will go out on Monday for Tuesday delivery. We are closed on weekends, weekend requests will be filled on Monday. Expect a day’s delay during Holidays.

Why is your shipping so expensive?
We have used other services in the past. The costs were the same or more, (we are not Amazon, so like all small businesses we pay a premium). Delivery times with other services were 2-3 days versus 1-2. Almost all our deliveries arrive by next business day (excluding weekends). Also, there is no additional charge for larger orders, or Signature Required if extra security is desired.

Can I come to your location?
No, we are a “delivery only” service.

I do not live in California, can I still order from you?
We are not able to deliver ANY of our products across state lines. If you can to provide a California delivery address we can fulfill your order. If you are looking specifically for CBD Only products please check out our sister company Healing Essence, as they are able to ship to other states. To be redirected to the Healing Essence website CLICK HERE.

Are your products 3rd party tested?
Yes, all Synergy products are systematically tested by an independent laboratory.

What is the shelf life for your tinctures?
Our tinctures have a long shelf life in general, and keep their potency in excess of one year. No need to refrigerate, just keep out of direct sunlight and at room temperature and all should be fine.
Olive & Sesame Oil: Treat all oil based tinctures as you would a fine olive oil and your shelf life should well exceed a year.
Alcohol Tinctures: Similar to a cognac or fine whiskey, alcohol based tinctures have longevity to spare. To keep in mind: Once opened and on the shelf, perhaps after several months, alcohol based tinctures can be prone to evaporation of the alcohol itself. The active cannabis terpenes do not evaporate - so your tincture could become stronger after some time goes by. Take this factor into account when measuring out your dosage! or add a bit of grain alcohol to the tincture bottle to replace evaporation.

Do you offer a senior discount?
We offer a Financial Need based discount of 10% to those who are struggling to purchase their medicine. Please let us know if you feel you qualify.

I don’t know what to order, can someone help me figure this all out?
Synergy staff are always here to help you with a wealth of experiential knowledge. Just give us a call. For more complex health situations we advise you to schedule a formal consultation with our expert in the medical cannabis field: Leonard Leinow, founder of Synergy Wellness. Is Medical Cannabis Legal? Yes—in the state of California. On November 5, 1996, California passed Proposition 215, and Section 11362.5 was codified and added to the Health & Safety Code. It is also known as the Compassionate Use Act of 1996. The purposes of the Act include, in part: "(A) To ensure that seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes where the medical use is deemed appropriate and has been recommended by a physician who has determined that the person’s health would benefit from the use of marijuana in the treatment of cancer, anorexia, AIDS, chronic pain, spasticity, glaucoma, arthritis, migraine, or any other illness for which marijuana provides relief; and (B) To ensure that patients and their primary caregivers who obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes upon the recommendation of a physician are not subject to criminal prosecution or sanction."

Information about Cannabis (marijuana)

Terms & Names
Hemp vs. Cannabis vs. Marijuana -
Legally, “hemp” is defined as a cannabis plant that contains 0.3 percent or less THC, while “marijuana” is a cannabis plant that contains more than 0.3 percent THC. CBD can be derived from both hemp and marijuana plants. Here at Synergy we also make a distinction between “cannabis” the dried, high quality flowers, versus other products made from “hemp” that use stems and other less potent parts of the cannabis plants for manufacturing the products. Synergy Wellness only uses the highest quality flowers for our products.

CBD vs. THC An easy way to think about it is that THC is defined by how cannabis makes you feel, while the effects of CBD can’t be felt. The important distinction is that, unlike THC, CBD will not intoxicate you.

Indica vs. Sativa Cannabis is rich in cannabinoids. There are over 85 identified different cannabinoids today including: THC, THCA, THCV, CBD, CBDA, CBN, CBT, CBC & CBG to mention a few. There are two basic species or types of cannabis: Indica and Sativa, and over 1,000 different strains within these two species. The healing properties of the cannabis strain lie in the relative ratios and combinations of the cannabinoids.

Indica originated in the Hindu Kush mountains in India and Nepal. Indica has a higher CBD to THC ratio. It produces a heavier, body oriented, sleepy or relaxing type of effect. The medicinal qualities include pain management, nausea, muscle spasms, stress and anxiety. Indica strains are a relaxant, effective for appetite stimulation, sleep, muscle spasms and tremors, among other symptoms. It is good as an evening medicine.

Sativa originated in Central and South America. Sativa usually has a lower CBD to THC ratio, producing a cerebral, uplifting type of feeling, more energetic and creative. Often, the THC content is higher in the sativa strains than the Indica strains. The Sativa strains are stimulating, effective in appetite stimulation, relieving depression, migraines, pain and nausea. Best taken in the morning or afternoon.

Hybrids are a combination of sativa and indica strains that have been cross bred with each other to produce a combination of medicinal properties.
